HIGH-TECH FROM NATURE: POPLAR FLOWER® -
the warmest and lightest plant fiber for the best sleeping comfort!
Poplar fluff - also known as summer snow, poplar snow and poplar wool - grows as a fluffy fiber in the fruit high up in the crown of the poplar tree. Poplar fluff is more delicate than silk and warms better than down. At the same time, the fiber is extremely breathable. Neither moisture nor heat can build up under a poplar fluff blanket.
These perfect properties for restful sleep were discovered by the Freiburg researcher Jens-Gerrit Eisfeld. In collaboration with the University of Freiburg, he developed the innovative fiber into a sustainable, marketable product. In 2002, he received the "Avantex Innovation Award" for the world's best fiber innovation for his work. Since then, poplar fluff has been recognized worldwide as a textile fiber.
THE OUTSTANDING PROPERTIES
OF POPLAR FLOWER® FIBER AT A GLANCE:
Warm & quickly warms:
Poplar fluff is the warmest textile fiber in the world, and is therefore finer and warmer than cashmere and down.
Poplar fluff warms immediately, i.e. the fiber has an enormous immediate heat retention capacity.
Breathable & moisture-regulating:
Poplar fluff regulates moisture better than all other textile fibers.
Poplar fluff blankets offer the driest and warmest sleeping cave, so no sweating under the blanket.
Light & fine:
Poplar fluff has very large cavities (= heat storage) and is therefore extremely light.
Poplar fluff is the finest hollow textile fiber in the world.
Healthy & hypoallergenic:
Poplar fluff is purely plant-based.
Poplar fluff is not chemically treated or finished during growth and harvesting, nor during processing! Poplar fluff is recommended by Öko-Test for allergy sufferers.
sustainable & ecological:
Poplar fluff is a naturally occurring, freely renewable plant-based raw material.
No fields need to be cultivated, fertilized or chemically treated to produce it. No insecticides or pesticides are used!
